WCL has been conferred “Miniratna” status on 15 March 2007. The Company has contributed about 6.7% of the national coal production during 2014–15. It has mining operation spread over the states of Maharashtra (in Nagpur, Chandrapur & Yeotmal Districts) and Madhya Pradesh (in Betul and Chhindawara Districts).

The Company is a major source of supplies of coal to the industries located in Western India in the States of Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and also in Southern India in the States of Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Kerala.A large numbers of Power Houses under Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Karnataka, Punjab and Uttar Pradesh – Electricity Boards are major consumers of its coal along with cement, steel, chemical, fertilizer, paper and brick Industries in these states

Qualification / Experience:-

Trade Apprentices:

• Computer Operator and Programming Assistant: ITI in Computer Operator and Programming Assistant trade accredited with NCVT or SCVT.
• Fitter: ITI in Fitter trade accredited with NCVT or SCVT.
• Electrician: ITI in Electrician trade accredited with NCVT or SCVT
• Welder (Gas and Electric): ITI in Welder trade accredited with NCVT or SCVT
• Surveyor: ITI in Surveyor trade accredited with NCVT or SCVT
• Mechanic Diesel: ITI in Mechanic Diesel trade accredited with NCVT or SCVT
• Wireman: ITI in Wireman trade accredited with NCVT or SCVT
• Draughtsman (Civil): ITI in Draughtsman trade accredited with NCVT or SCVT
• Mechanist: ITI in Mechanist trade accredited with NCVT or SCVT
• Turner: ITI in Turner trade accredited with NCVT or SCVT

Fresher Trade Apprentices:

Technician Apprentices: 

• Full-time Diploma in Mining Engineering or Mining & Mine Surveying from Institutions duly recognised by UGC/AICTE/ State Govt. Central Govt.

Graduate Apprentice:

• Full-time Degree course (B.E/B.Tech) in Mining Engineering from Institutions duly recognised by UGC/AICTE/State Govt. Central Govt.

Age Limit:- 18 – 25 Years

Age Relaxation:

• For OBC – up to 03 years
• For SC/ST – up to 05 years

 Salary:- 

Trade Apprentices:

• One year ITI ( SCVT/NCVT): Rs. 7,700/- per month
• Two year’s ITI ( SCVT/NCVT): Rs. 8,050/- per month
• Fresher: Rs. 6,000/- per month or qualification based as prescribed in the Apprentices Rule 1992.

Graduate Apprentice: Rs. 9,000/- pm

Technician Apprentices: Rs. 8,000/- pm

Job Location:- Maharashtra/Madhya Prades

Selection Process :- 

• The provisional selection shall be made from down the merit list prepared by each establishment based on the percentage of marks obtained in the qualifying examination i.e., relevant ITI examination/Educational Qualification.
