Southern Railway, in its present form, came into existence on 14th April 1951 through the merger of the three state railways namely Madras and Southern Mahratta Railway, the South Indian Railway, and the Mysore state railway.Southern Railway’s present network extends over a large area of India’s Southern Peninsula, covering the states of Tamilnadu, Kerala, Pondicherry,and a small portion of Andhra Pradesh. Serving these naturally plentiful and culturally rich southern states, the SR extends from Mangalore on the west coast and Kanniyakumari in the south to Renigunta in the North West and Gudur in the North East.

  • Signal & Telecom Workshop, Podanur – 1284 Posts

Qualification:-

Fresher Category:

Fitter, Painter & Welder:

  • Should have passed 10th Class (with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks) under 10, +2 System of education or its equivalent.

Medical Laboratory Technician (Radiology, Pathology, Cardiology):

  • Should have passed 12th Class (with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks) under 10, +2 system of education with Physics, Chemistry and Biology.

Ex. ITI Category:-

  • Fitter, Machinist, MMV, Turner, Diesel Mechanic, Carpenter, Painter, Welder(G&E), Wireman, Advance Welder & R&AC:
  • Should have passed 10th Class (with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks) under 10 +2 System of education and ITI course in the relevant trade in Government recognized ITI

Electrician:

  • Should have passed 10th Class (with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks)under 10 +2 System of education with Science as one of the subjects or its equivalent and ITI course in the relevant trade in Government recognized ITI

Electronics Mechanic:

  • Should have passed 10th Class (with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks) under 10 +2 System of education with Science (Physics and Chemistry) and Mathematics or its equivalent and ITI course in the relevant trade in Government recognized ITI

PASAA:

  • Should have passed 10th Class (with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks) under 10 +2 System of education & National Trade Certificate issued by National Council for Vocational Training in “Computer Operator and Programming Assistant”

Experience:-  Freshers

Age Limit:-

  • For General: 15 to 24 years

Age Relaxation:

  • 5 years of age for SC/ST candidates.
  • 3 years of age for OBC Non-Creamy layer candidates.
  • 10 years of age for Person with Disability candidates

Salary:-

  • Fresher’s – X std – Rs.6000/- (per month)
  • Fresher’s – 12th std – Rs.7000/- (per month)
  • Ex-ITI – Rs.7000/- (per month)

Job Location:- Chennai, Trichy, Madurai, Salem, Coimbatore, Trivandrum, Palakkad

 Selection Process Southern Railway Recruitment 2022:-

  • The selection will be on the basis of Merit List prepared in respect of all the eligible candidates who apply against the Notification. The Merit List will be prepared by the Committee nominated for this purpose by following the procedure mentioned as under

Fresher Category:

Marks obtained in Matriculation will be converted for 200 and merit list will be drawn based on the converted marks duly ensuring Minimum 50% in aggregate marks in Matriculation.

 Ex.ITI :-

Marks obtained in Matriculation will be converted to 100 marks ( duly ensuring Minimum 50% marks in aggregate) + ITI marks duly converted to 100. Total marks put together will be calculated for 200 marks and merit list will be drawn based on the converted marks giving equal weight age to both.

MLT :-

  • Marks obtained in Higher Secondary (with Physics, Chemistry, Maths & Biology) will be converted for 200 and merit list will be drawn based on the converted marks duly ensuring Minimum 50% in aggregate marks in Matriculation.

Application Fee:-

  • For General – Rs.100/-
  • SC/ ST/ PwD/ Women Candidates are exempted to pay.
