Kochi Water Metro Project – is an integrated Water Transport System that was envisaged with the objective of connecting the mainland with the islands, around the Kochi lagoon, through Modern Water Transport system. The primary aim is improving connectivity of people and thereby improving their livelihood and standard of living.The project is conceived as an environmental friendly, modern urban transport system with 15 identified routes over 76 km of route length. As per the Project Report, (being funded by KfW, Germany and Govt. of Kerala), on completion, with a fleet of 78 boats and 38 terminals, Kochi Water Metro Project would be the second largest water transport system next to only Venice.

Position:- Boat Master/Boat Operator/Boat Assistant  

Qualification:-

Boat Master:

• Second Class Master Certificate (In compliance with KIV rules)
• 10 +2 OR 10 + ITI Desirable : Diploma in any stream

Boat Operator:

• Second Class Engine Driver & Serang Certificate (In compliance with KIV rules)
• 10 +2 OR 10 + ITI

Boat Assistant:

• 10+2 Pass & Serang Certificate (In compliance with KIV rules)
• Desirable: ITI/ Diploma in Automobile/ Mech/ Electrical/ Electronics

Experience:-

 Boat Master:

• Minimum 5 years experience in sea or inland vessels out of which atleast 2 years as Boat Master.
• Preference will be given to the Ex-Navy, Ex-Coast Guard, EX-BSF (water wing) & ISLANDERS applicants having the qualification & experience mentioned above.

Boat Operator:

• Minimum 2 years as Boat Engineer / Operator in sea or inland vessels.
• Preference will be given to the Ex-Navy, Ex-Coast Guard, EX-BSF (water wing) applicants & ISLANDERS having the qualification & Experience mentioned above.

  Boat Assistant:

• Minimum 2 years as Serang in sea or inland vessels.
• Preference will be given to the Ex-Navy, Ex-Coast Guard, EX-BSF (water wing) & ISLANDER applicants having the qualification & experience mentioned above

Total Posts:- 37

Age Limit:-

• 45 Years
• Age Relaxation applicable as per reservation rules

Salary:-

• Boat Master – Rs. 40000/- Per Month
• Boat Operator – Rs. 35000/- Per Month
• Boat Assistant – Rs. 30000/- Per Month
