GRSE Recruitment 2024 for 230 Posts| ITI, 10th, Degree, Diploma Pass| 17th November 2024.
The origin of GRSE dates back to 1884. Initially the company was engaged in the business of operating shipbuilding and repair workshops as an unincorporated entity. It was incorporated as “Garden Reach Workshops Limited” on February 26, 1934 under the Companies Act, 1913 with the Registrar of Companies, Calcutta. It was named “Garden Reach Workshops Private Limited” on November 5, 1957. The organization was nationalised in 1960 and was soon brought under the fold of Ministry of Defence. Since then the share capital of the company is wholly owned by the President of India along with its nominees from time to time
Following the government acquisition the company name was changed to “Garden Reach Workshops Limited” on November 30, 1961. The name was again changed to “Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers Limited” on December 31, 1976, following the certificate of incorporation issued by the Registrar of Companies, West Bengal.

GRSE Recruitment Salary:-
Technician Apprentice:
- Kolkata: Rs.10,000/- pm
- Ranchi: Rs. 9,000/- pm
Graduate Apprentice:
- Kolkata: Rs.15,000/- pm
- Ranchi: Rs.12,500/- pm
Trade Apprentice (Fresher) – Kolkata:
- 1st Year: Rs. 6,000/- pm
- 2nd year Rs. 6,600/- pm
Trade Apprentice (Ex-ITI) – Kolkata / Ranchi:
- Stipend: Rs. 7,000/- or Rs. 7,700/- pm
Qualification:-
Technician Apprentice:
- Diploma Pass in Electronics & Communication Engineering, Civil Engineering, Civil & Structural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical & Production Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Structural Engineering, Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering
Graduate Apprentice:
- Graduate Pass in Civil Engineering, Civil & Structural Engineering, Structural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Technology, Mechanical & Production Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Information Technology
Trade Apprentice (Fresher):
- Students should have pass Class 10th pass or equivalent examination.
- Trades: Welder (Gas and Electric), Electrician, Fitter, Pipe Fitter, Machinist
Trade Apprentice (Ex-ITI):
- Students should have pass AITT for Craftsmen Training Scheme and possess a NTC issued by NCVT, Gov. of India in the relevant feeder trade mentioned above.
- Trade: Painter, Fitter (Structural), Secretarial Assistant (English), MMTM, Mechanic Refrigeration and Air Conditioning, ICTSM, Fitter, Welder (G&E), Electrician, Machinist, Draughtsman (Mechanical), Pipe Fitter, Carpenter, PASAA, Electronic Mechanic, Mechanic (Diesel)
GRSE Recruitment Selection Process:-
- Common Merit List base on number score in 10th class or equivalent examination will be prepar for selection of Trade Apprentices (Fresher). Allotment of trade will be done after joining based on availability of vacancies and qualification.
- Students apply for Trade Apprentice (Ex-ITI) can opt for Training either at Ranchi or Kolkata. They will be consider for preparing the merit list.
- Merit List base on number score in the Qualifying Examination in every trade / branches AITT under CTS for Trade Apprentice (Ex-ITI), Diploma in Engineering examination for Technician Apprentice and Degree in Engineering examination for Graduate Apprentice.
